Sa game 168, is a card game that is played in various forms, in various parts of the world, by people from various backgrounds, on various occasions. It is said to have originated in North America and is most popular in the region. The game is known to be the National card game of the United States (US) due to its popularity.
The origins:
The game was given its name around the early 19th century, and is said to have two theories that suggest the name’s origin – A French origin and a German origin:
- The French Origin Theory:
This theory suggests that the name “Sagame” is derived from the name of a French card game whose play and name was similar to that of the present-day card game. The name of the French game was “Poque.”
- The German Origin Theory:
This theory states that the game inherited its name from the name of a German card game, “Pochspiel,” that resembled sa game ทดลองเล่น as well.
However, most historians consider the theory of the French origin to be more likely true because themodern game seems to have been born in New Orleans in the early 19th century, which was also where the French card game “Poque” was extensively played.
Though the theories suggest two different supposed origins, digging a little deeper into history, it is found that both these similar-to-Sa game games, “Poque” and “Pochspiel,” have derived their names from the same German word “pochen,”that means “to brag or to bluff.
So, in this case, whichever path is taken, the destination, or the ultimate result, seems to be the same.Whichever one of the theory one chooses to believe in, the ultimate origin seems to be the German word “Pochen.”
Why is it still in fashion?
These opposing theories came into play only recently when gaming historians noted that Sa game was first started playing in the places where the French game “Poque” was commonly played and that the rules and regulations of the games resembled highly, as did their names. Until the late 20th century, before the historians pointed out the similarity, the game was accepted to be derived from a Persian game “As Nas,”which strongly resembled the modern game, which was played back in the 16th century.
However, the existence of several other card games with analogous rules, makes it hard to conclude on one solid origin for the popular game.
